Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit a Senior Digital Technical Architect for a 6 month temporary contract based in Blackpool. The successful applicant will have a valid DBS. Please Note: This assignment sits inside of IR35.

The clients programme is focused on bringing together the human resource and financial management systems, to create a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. We are looking for a Technical Architect to come and join us and help design and build our modernised People services. These are critical roles for experienced architects, who can work with our existing delivery teams, to drive the design and development of the clients People products and services, and our strategic roadmap.

As a Senior Solution Architect (Security) you will, working with engineering teams, be responsible for supporting the design, development, delivery and maintenance of IT products and services. This will typically be for a project or strand of a programme.

Essential Skills & Experience

The roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not restricted to:

• Deliver the technical and architecture design elements of large-scale projects / initiatives.

• Create solution designs that meet user needs, working closely with engineers, in agile delivery teams.

• Identify, capture, share, iterate, and implement architecture patterns.

• Contribute to the development of product roadmaps and represent product designs at DWP governance forums, providing clear communication of architecture design and decision making, in order to gain approval to proceed with designs.

• Engage with Domain and Lead Solution Architects, and engineering teams, to implement solutions according to agreed and approved designs.

• Contribute to, and build capability in, the clients Architecture community.

• Architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools and standards.

• Public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, container, and networking design patterns, tools and best practice (e.g. Amazon Web Services).

• Event-based architecture design, patterns (including pub-sub and data streaming), modelling techniques, tools and standards.

• Agile / DevOps delivery methodologies and best practice.

Experience in the following is desired to support this role:

• Experience in delivering large scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions.

• Knowledge of ERP, HCM Core processes including Payroll, Expenses, Performance Management, Time and Absence.

Key Tasks & Deliverables

You will have deep knowledge in your field and help to grow the technical architecture community, helping to support the community and build high quality products and services.

The role will require you to share your knowledge and experience – blending technical knowledge, architecture and development skills.

In addition, you will bring a breadth of understanding across a range of technical domains and depth of experience in the field of security.

You will need to provide a consistent set of solution views from a security architecture perspective, that communicate and describe the construction of the solution to all stakeholders.

Finally, you will support delivery teams, blending technical (development and architecture) and behavior (leadership and communication) skills.

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

Previous experience of security architecture within an environment similar to the client.
You will be required to bring your security expertise to support the programme, such as but not limited to:

Security threat trends, analysis and protection technologies, tools and best practice. Including software exploits/ SQL injection/ cross-site scripting/ remote file inclusion/ stolen credentials/ ‘watering hole’ attacks/ DDOS/ malware/ phishing/ ransomware.

Secure communication and encryption/ cryptographic technologies, tools and best practice. Including IPSec/ Kerberos/TLS/ SSL.

Identification, authentication and Single Sign-On(SSO) technologies, tools and best practice. Including: OpenID / Oauth 2.0/ OIDC/ XACML/ OATH reference architecture/Kerberos/ SAML/ WS-Security/ RACF.

Cybersecurity technologies, tools and best practices.
