Job Description
The public sector client is looking to recruit a Scheme Project Manager for a 6 month temporary contract, which enables you to work remotely, however, there will be some travel required to the Head Office in Milton Keynes.
In this role you will be supporting the clients delivery activities within the European technology and innovation Horizon 2020 programme – a programme with a total budget in excess of £60m. The programme is jointly funded through Members’ contributions and grants from the European Commission and is a 7 year European collaboration delivering technology, research and development activities aligned to the clients technical strategy.
The project is comprised of 5 Innovation Programmes and a cross-cutting activity module that seek to deliver improvements that: improve performance and safety; increase capacity; lower our carbon emissions; and reduce investment and lifecycle costs. With the client leading the Innovation programme focused on infrastructure, we have the opportunity to help shape the direction of the overall programme.

Essential Skills & Experience
Job Purpose:
You will be responsible to deliver the projects through various stages of the life cycle; and assist in developing the processes required to aid in the delivery of the overall project portfolio managed by the team.
This post will play a key role in the programme delivery team operating within Technical Authority’s Research, Development & Technology function.
The role will require some travel to mainland Europe by train or airplane.
Minimum Requirement:
European R&D project or R&D projects
Horizon 2020 is the funding body for the projects – European funded project
Travel Network background ideal – or transport sector – aviation or highway
Key Tasks & Deliverables
Key Accountabilities Include:
• Legislation and procedures including HM guidance where appropriate.
• Provide a professional, consistent and effective project management service including the use of performance indicators and project reporting systems in accordance with the clients standards and guidelines.
• Manage the development and delivery of change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures.
• Manage tactical change and risks within the project life cycle for allocated schemes.
• Assist or lead in the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of managed work.
• Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.
• Manage the production of project management plans
• Manage project budgets within agreed targets
• Deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to the Programme Manager (Change).
• Promote and monitor the use of efficiency improvement methods.
• Disseminate lessons learnt.
