Job Description
The public sector client is looking to recruit a Risk & Business Continuity Data Protections Manager for a 6 month temporary contract based near Glasgow. The assignment means you will be working between Glasgow St Vincent Street and work from home with site visits between Glasgow & Edinburgh – stations or signalling centres. The job sits inside IR35.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum Requirement:
To develop, implement, manage and review the Business Continuity plan and provide specialist skills including planning, project management and business impact analysis (aligned to the Network Rail business continuity plan/ strategy). To manage the development and delivery of GDPR and Data Protection across the Region. Champion GDPR across the Region and conduct business analysis to understand the ongoing need for GDPR focus.

Essential
• Proven good knowledge, understanding and experience of managing GDPR/DP systems;
• Successful experience in at least one resilience discipline (e.g. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management and Emergency Planning).
• Recognised leadership capability, with the vision and ability to establish cross-functional relationships and drive cultural/organisational change;
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to maintain credibility and influence people at all levels up to and including Board level;
• Demonstrable excellent communication and presentation skills, numerate, analytical and articulate and ability to develop business-wide solutions;
• Successful experience in setting, objectives and priorities in order to deliver to a programme of work and balance these with challenging deadlines
• Demonstrable good knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (2018)
• Proven Skills with a range of technologies/tools for business continuity planning and execution
Desirable
• Qualifications related to national/sector resilience, business continuity, or process design.
• Commercial and Financial awareness
• Membership of professional institutions involved with transport and security, engineering and technology, or risk

Key Tasks & Deliverables
Job Purpose:
1. Lead delivery and co-ordination of Business Continuity Management (BCM) activities for the Region including development, maintenance and; continuous improvement of processes to manage Business Impact Analyses and Business Continuity plans. 2. Identify and communicate the regions Data Protection and GDPR risks and requirements. 3. Lead the delivery of an exercise programme to validate the regions arrangements and confirm they are fit for purpose. 4. Manage the ongoing governance and assurance activities to enable the Region to be compliant with the BCM policy and standard. 5. Facilitate the promotion of BCM within the Region through influencing key stakeholders, and communicating the internal and external policies, processes and regulatory requirements, and use this to drive behavioural change and embed BCM into business processes. 6. Develop and drive a security focused culture based around GDPR and Data Protection throughout the Region. 7. Manage the development and delivery of Data Protection and GDPR processes and activities aligned to company polices and standards prioritising those associated with the Region’s specific risks. 8. Support the Region’s leadership team and the business as the Subject Matter Expert for Data Protection and GDPR, working in collaboration with the Legal team. 9. Work with the Risk and Assurance team to identify risk, controls and manage the related assurance activities, and report these to the Region. 10. Lead and manage security and systems related activities such as the Local Systems Steering Group. Security Champion activities and liaise with other functions as required.
Qualifications, Training & Certificates
The successful candidate will have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one on CV submission or when a job offer has been made and accepted. This assignment sits inside IR35.
