Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant for a 6 month temporary contract, which is likely to be extended thereafter. The successful candidate will be based in Northern Ireland. The client has confirmed you can work remotely for this assignment.

 

 

 

Essential Skills & Experience

PS accountant experience
Yearend experience
Oracle
Knowledge of the Financial Reporting Manual (FREM)

Key Tasks & Deliverables

Role Details: 
Assisting in the planning and preparation of Annual statutory accounts in line with current guidance and required timescales, including development of efficiencies in yearend procedures. Assisting in the preparation of other statutory returns as required, including liaising with statutory bodies such as HMRC and Department of Education. Input to oversight of financial control processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards, law, regulations and EA’s internal policies. Maintain internal and external audit relationships including year-end audit – directing audit queries, collating responses and documentation. Input to month end finance procedures including identifying and implementing efficiencies
Ensure compliance with finance and procurement policies. Provide technical accounting advice as appropriate.

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

Qualifications: Be a fully qualified accountant with current membership of one of the five CCAB bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS or Chartered Accountants Ireland) (ICAI) or CIMA or equivalent and able to demonstrate an active commitment to continuous personal and professional development;

The successful candidate will have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one on CV submission or when a job offer has been made and accepted. This assignment sits inside IR35.

About the Rates of Pay:  Please note: The higher pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest Ltd or Umbrella Company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to and the lower pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest PAYE pay rate, that the client is willing to pay up to, unless otherwise specified.
