Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Placements for a 4 month temporary contract (up until the end of the financial year March 2022), which enables you to work remotely. This assignment is likely to extend after March 2022. The client is based in Kent. The assignment sits inside IR35.

Role details and purpose: 
You will form part of the placement team. Continuing healthcare teams (details about the 3 teams/care groups you will be working with can be obtained from us directly)
Dealing with Personal health budgets.
Line management of 3 staff
Overall responsibility of the 3 care groups (details about the 3 care teams/groups you will be responsible to can be obtained from us directly)
Organising funding for the care groups
CCG funding requests
Escalating concerns
Stakeholder management

 

Essential Skills & Experience

Key Skills: 
Commissioning or Brokerage background in ASC
Local authority background with special needs team.
Experience working with children cases
Managing staff
Problem solving
Able to make requests around funding
Continuing healthcare background
Stakeholder management
Focus on healthcare in particular placements for vulnerable people.

Key Tasks & Deliverables

You will be tasked to: 

• Support procurement of scoping work on health services and resilience and translate outcomes into plans.
• As senior work stream lead working internally and externally to deliver projects, initiatives and services to time and in a cost effective way.
• Maintain a high level of performance and ability when faced with hostility and opposition from others
• Responsible for managing enquiries and appeals from individuals, families, solicitors, HSO and Local Authority
• To oversee team members to deliver the requirements listed above; engage and liaise with key stakeholders, within the health sector and other CSU’s, and health Area Teams, acute trusts, community health providers, children’s hospices, independent providers, consultants, local authority professionals
• To lead the identification and sharing of best practice in employee engagement.
• To operate in a highly political and sensitive environment including attendance at internal senior meetings providing representation for the service
• Leadership and attendance within customer facing environments representing both the service and the CSU
• Support the portfolio of programmes in demonstrating value for money for the current spend through tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits/outcomes
• Lead the team in the delivery of project plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the project.
• Pro-actively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve conflict between different stakeholders when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.
• Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost effective manner. Maintain the project initiation document and associated plans with regular team meetings to monitor progress and resources.
• Ensure the flexibility of the project if required to meet conflicting/changing requirements.
• Support other services as and when required demonstrating a cross-matrix approach and understanding of other service areas

• Ensure that the projects maintain business focus, have clear authority and that the context, including risks, are actively managed in alignment with the strategic priorities of NHS.

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

The successful candidate will have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one on CV submission or when a job offer has been made and accepted. This assignment sits inside IR35.
