Job Description
The public sector client is looking to recruit a Environmental Project Manager for a 12 month temporary contract, which is home-based. The client is keen to find candidates who live local to Glasgow. The client is ultimately looking for someone who has experience of working on environmental projects and familiar with the challenges that they may face. The successful candidate will have a valid DBS. Please Note; This assignment sits inside of IR35.
Management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included. Ongoing management of those plans to achieve the delivery goals. Work with key stakeholders to manage the deployment of all aspects of the project assigned to Identify and mitigate potential risks for delivery of products. Operate as a full member of the team; supporting the Air Quality and Environment Manager and other team members as directed. Project Manage all aspects of specific work packages. Working with stakeholders to ensure Design; Delivery; Technical Build; testing; MI requirements etc are managed and delivered to date and time. Completion of the high level plan through to Go Live and BAU handover.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in the delivery of projects; with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders Experience of governance and risk control frameworks. Good planning and organisational skills. Strong leadership; people and communications skills. Possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making.
Specifically to assist in the management and delivery of Low Emission Zone project to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included. Operate as a full member of the team; supporting the Air Quality and Environment Manager and other team members as directed.
Provide project management, advice and support to the public sector client on air quality (including low emission zone) issues . This will be a 5 day a week post.
Key Tasks & Deliverables
The relevant specialist of the successful participant will be expected to have expertise and experience including, but not limited to, the following:
Technical:
• Substantial knowledge of air quality (and low emission zones) and environmental management more broadly
• A robust understanding of the relevant policy background in air quality (and low emission zones) and environmental management more broadly in Scotland
• A working knowledge of low emission zones processes and the associated legislative requirements applying in Scotland
• Experience in the implementation of practical mitigation of relevance to the delivery of low emission zones and/or associated road infrastructure enforcement projects
• An understanding of the practical implementation of the associated regulations.
Qualifications, Training & Certificates
• Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline
• Preferably a Chartered Environmentalist or environmental practitioner level qualification
