The public sector client is looking to recruit a Lead Developer for a 6 month temporary contract that is based in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will have a valid SC Clearance. Due to the nature of the job the client is looking for UK Nationals.

You will:
• Experience leading a technical design & delivery team
• Extensive work experience in information systems or related field.
• Significant expert experience (minimum 2-5 years) design, development and implementing IT solutions based on Microsoft SharePoint Server with exposure to Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019, on non-internet-connected secure systems in a UK Defence setting, with significant understanding and experience of associated technical and security policy.
• 5+ years of experience building web-based systems with the Microsoft .Net technology stack employing the best practices of SOA architecture using C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, with SQL backend databases.
• Experience with implementing best practice SharePoint information architectures, workflows, and mobile applications.
• Experience using full lifecycle development methodologies with web-based applications.
• Experience integrating with backed operational and content management systems.
• Experience working on component-based applications including web services, application integration, patterns, and data access development.
• Experience in the UK Defence Sector.

Desirable:
• Understanding of the use of Desired State Configuration (DSC) to define and control the infrastructure and environment of the Client’s SharePoint 2019 farms.
• Knowledge or experience of using code repository such as Git.
• Experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience of working in an ITIL environment.
• Able to produce a high standard of technical and instructional documentation, such as High and Low-Level Designs, implementation plans and support documentation.
• Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
• Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.
• Ability to organise and plan work independently.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities.

Essential
• Responsible for the development of the migration strategy crucial in the movement of the Client’s existing working dataset into the new SharePoint 2019 environment using the appropriate migration tooling (Metalogix, PowerShell, etc.).
• Significant expert experience (minimum 3-5 years) implementing and supporting PowerShell, PowerShell Cmdlets, Functions and Modules, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and HTML 5 scripts on non-internet-connected secure systems in a UK Defence setting.
• Experience of administrating SharePoint 2019.
• Experience of migrating SharePoint using tools such as Metalogix Content Matrix by Quest.
• Experience of implementing and supporting IT solutions based on SharePoint 2010, 2013 or 2016.

Lead Developer
• Leadership experience is essential as includes managing a technical design & delivery team
•Lead SharePoint solution development, and implementation efforts, providing technical design, system and architectural prototyping, and component development.
• Lead the migration of the Client’s existing dataset from their current SharePoint 2010 environment to the new SharePoint 2019 environment.
• Conducting detailed design of technical solutions.
• Building SharePoint 2019 site templates from wireframes.
• Deployment of 3rd party web parts and development of a site provisioning engine using PowerShell.
• Problem solving and providing technical lead to resolution.
• Producing technical implementation plans from requirements and design documentation.
• Producing documentation including Low level Designs, Deployment Guides, Work Instructions, Knowledge Articles, and Implementation Plans.
• Collaboration activities with other members of the Architecture, Design & Delivery team to support fulfilment of customer requirements.
• Briefing notes on issues as they arise.
