Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit a Junior Project Manager for a 6 month temporary contract based in Leeds. The client has advised that you will be required to work in the office a few days a week and the remaining days can be worked remotely.

Essential Skills & Experience

Skills and Experience: 
• Applying project management practices, tools and techniques and using effective quality and risk & issue management strategies.
• Able to use adaptive delivery techniques to manage and deliver waterfall and agile delivery types of projects
• Experience of and competent of successfully planning, managing, delivering, and closing small/medium projects in accordance with an organisation’s project management framework
• Applies project management practices, tools and techniques and using effective quality and risk & issue management strategies.
• Gains and maintains the trust, confidence, commitment, and collaboration of others to ensure the continued momentum of the project or programme.
• Is an advocate for the project or programme and understands its objectives, values and vision.
• Proven ability and experience of working to a quality management system/strategy or method, ensuring processes and procedures are robust and relevant to improve the reliability of achieving the desired outcome of the project/work area.
• Competent at managing project reviews, agreeing and managing outputs, and taking corrective action

Key Tasks & Deliverables

About you:

• The Junior Project Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of one or more small/medium projects to time, cost and quality criteria, which meet internal and external customers’ requirements using adaptive delivery techniques.
• The post holder is responsible for defining, documenting, and safely executing projects or several smaller initiatives, actively participating across the project lifecycle to ensure deliverables are accomplished as specified.
• The post holder participates in assurance and approvals processes to support the effective delivery of projects.

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

Qualifications:
• Recognised project management qualification at foundation level; eg, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent experience.
• Qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating proficiency of MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook).
• Specialist knowledge of project management practices, tools & techniques. and effective risk and issue management.
• Specialist knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management particularly relating to governance and controls, reporting, process improvement and quality.
The successful candidate will have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one on CV submission or when a job offer has been made and accepted. This assignment sits inside IR35.
