Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit 4 Intelligence Investigation Analysts. 2 positions are for Senior Analysts and 2 positions are for more junior analysts. This is a Hybrid assignment – You will be able to work 2 days remotely and 3 days in the office in (London Vauxhall). The client is based 5 minutes from Vauxhall tube (Near MI5) – No travel expense are allocated to these jobs. The assignment will be for 6 months, however, will be extended for a further 6 months thereafter.

Due to the nature of the job and the client, the successful candidate/s will have a valid SC Clearance.

About the Rates of Pay: The higher pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest Ltd or Umbrella Company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to and the lower pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest PAYE pay rate, that the client is willing to pay up to, unless otherwise specified. FOR THIS PARTICULAR JOB: The lower pay rate advertised in this particular job description is the daily pay rate for the junior analysts. The higher pay rate advertised in this job description is the senior analysts daily pay rate.

Essential Skills & Experience

The active investigations may be at different stages of development, therefore the Analyst will need to adapt and be able to assist in building either the intelligence picture or producing evidential packages, as required.

With the ICU, analytical products will assist in the progression of both reactive and proactive operations. Analytical techniques should be utilised and the results presented in an appropriate format to inform strategic and tactical planning, thereby ensuring best use of resources and robust decision making
Technologies/systems used:

• Excel
• I2
• Internal ATA (will be taught)
• Compass
Core day to day duties: • Embed themselves with the case team and understand the case
• Look at the analytical aspect of how they can help, financial record, phone records and be able to present these
• Relationship data bases
• Stake holder management
• I2 charts creation
• Using Compass to migrate data

 

Key Tasks & Deliverables

To provide tactical analytical support to assist in cartel intelligence gathering and analysis and cartel investigations under the criminal and civil regimes. To review intelligence and / or investigation material and advise the case team leader on the most appropriate way to collate, analyse and present it for the purposes of the proposed criminal prosecution and / or civil proceedings. To analyse and associate intelligence and / or investigation material to identify key evidence, potential further lines of inquiry and primary witnesses.

Key skills: Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills. Experience of negotiating and persuading. Ability to deliver presentations, attend and engage in briefings and meetings within a police and agency environment.

Proven research skills with the ability to problem solve. Evidence of an enquiring mind and the ability to interpret and develop inferences from data. Confident, conscientious and methodical.

Work effectively with minimum supervision whilst remaining team focused. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and produce accurate work within tight deadlines. Flexible approach to working hours. Able to evidence self-motivation and use of own initiative. Excellent time management skills and a good coordinator.

The Senior Analyst also requires experience in managing and supervising the above.

Substantial current role-related experience as an analyst in a law enforcement/intelligence environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model and experience of delivering intelligence products, crime analysis tools, methodology and specialist software
Required qualifications: NIAT or working to NIAT (Ideally)

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

Good legislative knowledge e.g. CPIA, Data Protection, Discrimination, etc. Knowledge of information management policies. Evidence of interpretation and application of relevant legislation.

Advanced IT skills. Extensive use of Excel and i2 Analyst Notebook. Extensive knowledge of Communications data, Social Media and Open Source data; its use and governing legislation. Willingness and ability to learn and use new systems as technology develops.
