Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit an Information Manager for a 6 month temporary contract based in any one of the locations listed below:  London – Wakefield – Birmingham – Leicester – Warrington – Bristol. You will however, be able to work remotely until the restrictions ease or until you are otherwise advised by the client. This assignment sits inside IR35.

Job Purpose:
To support the team in ensuring that subject access requests under the Data Protection Act and are responded to appropriately and met procedural time scales. The role holder will process the more complex and involved requests. This involves initial assessment of the request; contact with managers to identify information held. To lead on all complaints from Requesters. To apply knowledge of data protection principles and statute to reviewing existing processes, and ensuring that new systems, procedures or research studies are data protection compliant.
Summary of Role:  Successful delivery of the Public Records Act project and delivery of an Information Lifecycle Management function.
Security Clearance: SC Enhanced, preferable to have existing active SC
Travel to sites/meetings in the UK may be required. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the NCA Expenses Policy. The cost of travel between the Contractor’s home and the primary location(s) of work will not be reimbursed.

Essential Skills & Experience

Responsibilities: Day to day involvement in delivering Public Records Act compliance.
Knowledge of the Public Records Act including Appraisal and Sensitivity Review.
You’ll have relevant experience in: 
• Understanding of Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) techniques and relevant tools and processes, to ensure the effective use and exploitation of information
• Understanding of the Public Records Act (PRA) and the National Archives (TNA)
• Experience of working in an information, archive or records management environment
• Experience of change management
• Experience of PRA appraisals and submissions

Key Tasks & Deliverables

Minimum Requirement: Support the business in meeting their Public Records Act (PRA) compliance obligations with regards to identifying and appraising records for suitability for transfer to The National Archives (TNA).
Deliver Information and Records Management services supporting the NCA through their initial PRA submissions to TNA, including: Macro Appraisal, Micro Appraisal, Sensitivity Review, Record Transfer
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with critical areas of the business and the Chief Data Office (CDO) in order to foster collaborative working.
Provide appropriate Information and Records Management advice in line with PRA requirements to the Business Areas where required

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

Qualifications: MSc in a GKIM subject (Records, Archive or Library Management preferred) or equivalent experience.
