The public sector client is looking to recruit a Health Physics Surveyor for a contract that will run up until the beginning of September 2021. The client is looking for candidates to start immediately. This assignment allows you to work remotely.  The successful candidate will have a valid DBS. Please Note: This assignment sits inside IR35.

The successful candidate must be willing to work with ionising radiation.

Must be medically to be a classified person (radiation worker) IRR17.

Carrying out radiation and contamination surveys in support of work to be carried out on accelerators and beamlines; Supporting Radiation Protection Supervisors in implementing on-the-job dose control measures during work with ionising radiation and contamination. Posting and updating warning signs in radiation areas. Producing radiation survey reports, and having input into risk assessments and procedures for work with radiation; Providing assistance for treatment, characterisation, accountancy and disposal of radioactive waste. Assisting with the control, movement and accountancy of radioactive machine components, experimental samples and sealed sources within the facility. Carrying out routine checks of radiation monitoring equipment. Assisting with maintaining stocks of and other Health Physics equipment.

City & Guilds Radiation Safety Practise Stage 1 or equivalent is essential.
City & Guilds Radiation Safety Practice Stage 2 or equivalent is desirable.
