Job Description
The public sector client is looking to recruit 2 General Litigation Lawyers for a 11 month temporary contract based in London.
You will be able: To manage broad range of varied case work activities complying with policies, standards, procedures and service level agreements. Deal with complex and non routine cases exercising appropriate levels of delegation and risk management. Maintain accurate and comprehensible case files. Co-ordinate all activities relating to the successful completion of the case including. Ensure the timely handling of invoices during each case. Comply with Litigation Group’s Quality policies. Provide a legal service that addresses client needs from outset of each case through to case completion. Provide a legal service that is proactive not reactive. Manage all aspects of the client relationship for each allocated case. Align the service provided with the client needs in a way that enhances the Agency’s reputation. Build and maintain relationships with clients demonstrating an understanding of commercial, political and policy context including effective use of the relevant client care system. Ensure each client is aware of the agreed extent of the service to be provided and cost implications. Keep each client informed as the case progresses.
The client is supporting a government department in an inquiry into how and why thousands of people became infected with HIV and/or Hepatitis C through blood and blood products.
The successful candidate will have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one on CV submission or when a job offer has been made and accepted. This assignment sits inside IR35.
About the Rates of Pay: The higher pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest Ltd or Umbrella Company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to and the lower pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest PAYE pay rate, that the client is willing to pay up to, unless otherwise specified. - Previous Inquiry knowledge
- Experience of using a large eDisclosure databases
Key Tasks & Deliverables
Duties will include:
- Working with counsel, paralegals, other members of the clients team to support the Department;
- Corresponding and communicating with individual witnesses and drafting their statements and
- Engaging with and assisting in the review of documentary evidence provided to support witnesses and the Department.
