Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit 8 Floor walkers in varying locations to deliver on a short term temporary contract of 4 weeks. The successful candidates must be available to start work on the 12th October 2021 and must have a valid DBS.  The client is looking for candidates to work in the locations listed below:

The 8 temporary resources will provide floor-walking support for:
• 3 x London (Sanctuary Buildings, Roxburgh House and the Bristol office)
• 2 x Coventry – Cheylesmore House
• 1 x Sheffield – St Pauls Place
• 1 x Manchester – Piccadilly Gate
• 1 x Darlington – BishopGate House

The successful candidates will be contracted to cover onsite during the hours between – 08:00am – 16:00pm.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

The role will require a great customer service and the ability to learn new skills quickly. IT is always changing and Digital and Technology Directorate are currently in the process of rolling out a variety of service offerings that will further improve the customer experience.

The roles would provide floorwalking to offer advice and enable user to use the docking station, printing facilities in the office. Working closely with the 1st and 2nd Line teams issues will be catalogued and cleared or passed to the support teams for clearance.

The roles provide a critical service to users to maintain their productivity, through resolution of IT hardware and software issues.

Key Tasks & Deliverables

Day to day tasks will include handovers to new starters of Laptops/Tablets/Mobile Phones. The building of these devices, as well as ensuring the customers are comfortable with the technology before leaving the room. Remote assistance is a big part of the role and therefore technical fixes and the ability to troubleshoot and use your own initiative are needed. Training will be provided and all known fixes but the ability to work on your own is a must.

Support DfE colleagues with their day-to-day IT issues Floor walk and advise users of best practise,. Look for faulty equipment\configuration of the standard desk set up and report back to the 2nd Line teams. Deal with 99% of all incoming calls. Checked weekly through reporting

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

Essential
EO Level:
• Good communication skills
• A broad knowledge and interest in IT
• Experience providing technical support in a corporate IT context
• Works well under pressure

Desirable
EO Level:
• Previous IT Helpdesk\Deskside support experience
• Experience of working using remote connection tools

The successful candidate will have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one on CV submission or when a job offer has been made and accepted. This assignment sits inside IR35.

About the Rates of Pay: The higher pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest Ltd or Umbrella Company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to and the lower pay rate advertised in our job advert/s will always be the highest PAYE pay rate, that the client is willing to pay up to, unless otherwise specified.
