The Land Quality team undertakes characterisation activities and groundwater monitoring to meet specific monitoring objectives, to demonstrate compliance with its Environmental Permits and provide information to support compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions. The management of groundwater is underpinned by a Best Available Techniques assessment. In addition to the routine site-wide groundwater monitoring programme enhanced sampling programmes are initiated in response to events .
