Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit 4 Delivery Leads for a 6 month temporary contract based in London, however, this assignment allows you to work remotely, until further notice. You will be working, with a number of cross-functional delivery teams to accelerate and drive the delivery of value. Ensures that their teams are functioning smoothly and deals with any blockers and issues that come up. You will take responsibility for making sure the team’s work is well run and well documented. You will be responsible for the execution of a team’s roadmap, highlighting any risks to delivery.

Please Note; This assignment sits inside of IR35.

Essential Skills & Experience

Essential Experience – You will need:

• A strong track record of Digital Transformation in a large organisation.
• Senior-level experience of managing complex successful software development programmes with a strong understanding of the full delivery lifecycle.
• Robust decision-making in a complex environment while delivering results at pace.
• Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external business partners including effectively managing third party suppliers.
• Proven ability to understand business drivers, pressures, and value.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills along with an ability to simplify and communicate complex issues at all levels.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience managing teams delivering native apps.
• Experience working in the Public Sector.
• Supply chain experience
• Contract management, contract extension, re-tendering experience
• Experience of the Government Digital Service (GDS) processes and standards.
• Knowledge of collaboration tools such as Miro.

Key Tasks & Deliverables

You will be required;

• To work hand-in-hand with the Product Director being accountable for the technical delivery of the company/App (development, test, security, support, delivery and PMO)
• To lead, inspire and shape a multi-disciplinary team of civil servants, contractors and third-party providers to deliver changes against the Product roadmap.
• To work alongside Product, Policy and other programme leads to ensure that delivery is aligned to future plans within the programme and wider reform.
• To manage and work with the Delivery Leads and Release Managers to ensure development teams have a clear delivery plan / schedule and manage any dependencies, risks and issues.
• To liaise with and effectively communicate with key business and technology stakeholders at Director / C-level.
• To oversee the development of software and infrastructure delivery, ensuring that all teams follow technical standards and design principles and that releases are managed in a safe, orderly and timely way.
• To drive a continuous improvement agenda around operational change and continue to transition the team to a BAU operating model.
• To oversee PMO and run governance bringing together teams across Policy, Probity, Data Science, Analytics, Comms as well as Technical Teams.
• To work alongside the Commercial and Finance teams to manage budgets, spend and contracts

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

You will ned to be:

• Fully conversant with different project methodologies (e.g. Prince 2, Agile) with experience in applying them appropriately in different contexts.
• Good working knowledge of budget management, business case development and procurement processes.
• Confident in using standard programme management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Jira, Confluence
