Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit a Commercial Project Manager for a 6 month temporary contract based in Central Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will have a valid DBS. Please Note: This assignment sits outside of IR35.

The client is looking for project manager with a Commercial background, who has worked on data centre migration projects as a commercial manager. They will be responsible for the details orientated, challenge suppliers on costs that they submit, commercial negotiation skills, experience of working with difficult suppliers.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in managing IT/tech suppliers
• Facilitate weekly commercial meetings to review commercial plans, ensuring supplier deliver to contract milestones and commercials
• Support the build of monthly reports; open book data, contract baseline for increased transparency
• Manage commercial aspects of Major IT delivery programmes, providing commercial advice.
• Manage IT project contract disputes, maintain contract change trackers, change requests and variations.
• Understanding of IT contracts, manage performance and contractual obligations
• Manage savings opportunities with key IT suppliers to deliver efficiencies
• Support the management of strategic IT relationships

Key Tasks & Deliverables

Working closely with colleagues who are planning and tracking progress of the Programme to ensure an up to date picture is maintained. Ensuring that actions are progressed and highlighting areas where insufficient information is likely to cause a problem. Pro-actively identifying likely problems which may hinder delivery and suggesting solutions to the Programme management. Ensure that the Programme risk register is updated on a regular basis and that the information captured is up to date and can be reported on in an efficient manner. Design and creation of highlight _ checkpoint reports for Programme and Steering Boards (e.g. Programme dashboards; minutes and presentation slides). Management of the product management and risk management processes. Ensure that there is robust adherence to PPM processes including planning; risk management; dependency management and change control. Management of the change control procedure.
