Job Description
The public sector client is looking to recruit a 12 month temporary contract based in Cumbria. The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below. The successful candidate will have a valid DBS. Please Note: This assignment sits inside of IR35.
The successful candidate could be an Operations Manager previously, who is accustomed to dealing with senior staff and has excellent people skills, which are a necessary requirement in this particular job. You will also have excellent communications skills.

Key Tasks & Deliverables
You will be responsible for the – Development and rollout of performance meetings – 6 months initial focus
Coaching staff – final 6 months
You be required – To work across all four Operations Value Streams to develop and support the implementation of a “Visual Factory” performance area within the Plant-based daily meetings (Plant Operational Control Centres). There are 24 of these currently. Work with the team to create a standard for these POCCs. Coach the Teams around key requirements and in the running of these daily meetings to ensure a manufacturing style focus on daily performance and ensuring that improvements are linked to key objectives. Ensuring that metrics are linked to objectives, and are clear and visual. Work with Engineering and maintenance to ensure that there are links between the Mechanical and Engineering Control Centres (MECCs) and the POCCs. There is focus on the assets that are critical to the delivery of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and annual targets. Experience of leading large-scale improvements, of managing teams of building capability. Deliverables: A standard for a POCC and MECC that could be rolled out across the clients programme. All POCCS and MECCs to be at a minimum of Level 3 standard by end of March 2022 (Matrix with levels 1-5 available). The client staff running the daily performance meetings following an agreed standard.
Qualifications, Training & Certificates
Recognised professional qualification related to Lean / Six Sigma. (Institute for Continuous Improvement in Public Services (ICIPS) or equivalent Professional Body (CMI, APM, CIPD). Black Belt / Green Belt desirable but not essential
