Job Description

The public sector client is looking to recruit a Business Architect Analyst for a 12 month temporary contract based in Cumbria. The position will be partly office based and partly home based, with an even split between the two (50/50). This assignment sits inside of IR35.

The Business Architecture Analyst will support the Senior Business Architecture Analyst and Business Architecture. They will lead in driving efficiency through the client’s  processes, ensuring that the future state is integrated across the enterprise and is optimised to deliver maximum business benefit.

The successful Business Architecture Analyst will report to the Business Architecture Lead and will support in the oversight of process, technology, organisation information, systems and data changes across the enterprise. The role will focus on the generating the detailed design for future ways of working across the Enterprise ensuring that business benefits can be achieved.

Essential Skills & Experience

The role supports the business to ensure that any solution being developed is integrated across the enterprise and optimised to drive business benefit and quality whilst balancing the cost and risk to the enterprise.

The role requires the ability to:
• Harness business change and analytical skills to support the business in developing solutions and ensure alignment to architecture and strategy.;
• Utilise effective relationship management skills to work across a range of stakeholders such as process owner and process users to influence effective outcomes aligned to strategy
• Understand interdependencies and prioritization to support the integration of delivery of business change Programmes
The role holder requires strong interpersonal leadership and behavioural skills allowing them to not only extract information but to provide information to multiple internal stakeholders. The role holder is often seen as an expert in business processes and the place to go to gain information and assistance, requiring the role holder to have a wide-ranging network of contacts.

It is essential that the individual demonstrates effective influencing skills and a high level of integrity, particularly in respect of the relationship with key SL role holders. The strength of these linkages will be a determining factor in measuring the successful delivery of the role.

Business and problem-solving skills are crucial requirements to serve as a trusted adviser.
The individual needs to be objective in fact and outlook with the ability to constructively raise issues that lead to a resolution with minimal or no conflict. They need strong communication skills and the ability to articulate messages that are potentially new or negative.

• A enterprise-wide awareness of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
• Experience of delivering process improvement and optimisation
• Good communication skills with the ability to advise and influence other members of the organisation

Key Tasks & Deliverables

• Support the Senior Business Architecture Analyst and the Business Architecture lead in determining the best available approaches to enable the change journey into deliverable elements that bring business benefit in shortest timescale possible.
• Support the Business Architecture lead and Transition Compliance Lead to ensure that business integration and readiness for deployment is developed in a manner that enables an efficient execution phase.
• Support the Business Architecture Design Authority to ensure consistency of approach to the governance of managing the integrity of the business process architecture with a focus on optimisation of business benefit.
• Draft and design procedures to meet future requirements as defined in the change programmes ensuring that future state process are efficient and effective following Lean principles
• Facilitate detailed design workshops, of appropriate complexity, using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework
• Key user of the Sellafield Enterprise Management toolset including management, development and control of changes
• Maximizing within the project the use of Learning from Experience (LFE) from previous solutions / projects and disseminating new LFE to relevant functions to avoid risk, reduce cost and achieve schedule.
• Pursue personal development and identification of appropriate training to ensure they remain suitably qualified for their role.

• Act as delegate for Senior Business Architecture Analyst with use of assigned delegations where appropriate
• Provision of intelligent advice, coaching and challenge to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications, Training & Certificates

• Good analytical skills with the ability to spot trends and patterns
• The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)– Certified
• Lean Sigma Green Belt / 1c LCS
