Job Description
The public sector client is looking to recruit an Asset Manager for a 9 month temporary contract, which is based in London. Currently you will be able to work remotely, however, once the restrictions ease you will be required to work onsite, at the office base.
Over the next decade the prison population is forecasted to increase substantially, with multiple factors, including 20,000 additional police officers, likely to put further pressure on the prison estate. The commitment to build new and fit for purpose prison places is clear though the £4bn Spending Review commitment to build 18,000 more prison places by 2026. The majority of these places will be delivered through new prisons, expansions and refurbishment of the existing estate. But these long-term and strategic builds will not address the predicted capacity deficit in the short term, which this project is designed to address.
Between now and Q1 2022 the Rapid Deployment Cells Project (RDCP) is expected to deliver 1,000 additional prison places within the closed estate to largely support:
• Capacity pressure in the short term; and
• Ongoing maintenance and refurbishment projects without requiring decants at affected prisons.
Please Note: This assignment sits inside IR35.
